Copies of the Quran are available on shelves and cabinets along the corridors of the Grand Mosque, including those printed in Braille for the blindJakarta (Indonesia Window) – A total of 80,000 new copies of the Quran printed at the King Fahd Al-Quran Printing Complex in Madinah are available at a number of points in Makkah’s Grand Mosque, to be distributed to pilgrims at this holy mosque.
Copies of the Quran are available on shelves and cabinets along the corridors of the Grand Mosque, including those printed in Braille for the blind, said Ghazi Al-Thubyani from the General Presidency for the Two Holy Mosques.
In addition, the presidency also provides copies of the Quran and its translations in various languages, including English, Urdu and Indonesian.
Books containing interpretations of the Quran are also provided, and can be viewed via QR codes to make it easier for pilgrims to download them to their smart devices.
The General Presidency has also prepared a special program to welcome hajj pilgrims to the Grand Mosque, by providing a copy of the Quran as a gift to each pilgrim, to accompany them during rituals of this year’s hajj pilgrimage which is the fifth Pillar of Islam.
All these initiatives are carried out under the direction of the Chief of the General Presidency for the Two Holy Mosques Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, and his deputy, Badr bin Abdullah Al-Furaih.
Earlier,
during the month of Ramadan 1443 Hijri/2022, the General Presidency also awarded more than 30,000 copies of the Quran to umrah (minor hajj) pilgrims and visitors to the Grand Mosque.
Throughout the year, the General Presidency carries out services to preserve and care for the Quran, conducting a number of inspection tours to ensure the authenticity of these copies so that those who visit the Grand Mosque find the correct and approved edition.
All copies of the Quran available at the Two Holy Mosques (the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah) are approved by the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran after going through a very thorough inspection process by trusted scholars.

King Fahd Glorious Quran Printing Complex was inaugurated by King Fahd of Saudi Arabia in the month of Safar 1405 Hijri/1984.
The printing complex stands on a land area of approximately 250,000 square meters, with a number of modern facilities, including a mosque, buildings for administration, maintenance, printing, warehouse, transportation as well as marketing, library and medical offices in addition to other related support services.
The complex’s facilities also include a new library for the administration of scientific affairs.
The King Fahd Quran Printing Complex produces copies of the Quran in Arabic and its translations into 76 languages, including French, Urdu, Turkish and Indonesian.
