The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to closely monitor the escalation that occurred after Israel's attack on Iran's diplomatic facilities in the Syrian capital of Damascus and Iran’s retaliatory attack on Israel.
Indonesian citizens who plan to travel on flight routes through airspaces or transit in Middle Eastern countries are advised to anticipate flight schedule disruptions and immediately contact their respective airlines to get flight updates.
The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has again called on all Indonesian citizens who will travel to Iran and Israel to postpone their travel plans.
If they face emergency situations, please immediately contact the hotline numbers of the Indonesian representatives in the Middle East and other representative offices closest to them, or access the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' safe travel mobile application.
The ministry also continues to communicate and coordinate with the Indonesian embassies in Amman (capital of Jordan), Tehran (capital of Iran), and other representative offices of the country in the Middle East, and it likewise monitors the situation of Indonesian citizens living in the area.
The Indonesian Embassy in Amman has established communication with Indonesian citizens living in Israel. Until now there is no information about Indonesian citizens who were affected by Iran's retaliatory attack on Israel on April 14, 2024.
The database in the Indonesian Embassy in Amman shows 115 Indonesian citizens residing in Israel. The majority of them live in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Arava.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran noted that there are 376 Indonesians living in Iran, most of whom are students in the city of Qom.
On April 13, 2024, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on Indonesian citizens to increase vigilance and postpone travels to Iran and Israel.
In an emergency situation, Indonesian citizens can immediately contact the nearest Indonesian representative offices by hotline numbers.
