Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – The Indonesian state-owned banknote/security printers and mint or so-called Peruri will print one million Sri Lankan passport books under a cooperation contract signed by Peruri’s Director of Operations Saiful Bahri and Epic Lanka’s Executive Chairman Nayana Dehigama on Friday (June 10) in Jakarta.

The contract value for printing one million Sri Lankan passport books is 31 billion rupiahs (some 2.1 million U.S. dollars), according to a written statement from Peruri received here on Wednesday.

Epic Lanka is a Sri Lankan company that has been appointed by the Sri Lankan Department of Immigration and Emigration to work on the Sri Lankan Passport project.

The Sri Lankan state document has been printed by Peruri for 20 years. During this period, the total number of passports printed reached more than 10 million books with nine contract signings.

"The signing of this cooperation shows that Peruri is internationally recognized for its good product quality and ability to carry out strategic projects of foreign countries," said Saiful Bahri.

Peruri is committed to developing digital-based hybrid molded products to add product value through increasing security features, he added.

Apart from printing Sri Lankan passports, previously Peruri also printed Nepali state documents, including banknotes, stamps, and excise stamps. Peruri has also printed Philippine stamps and Peruvian banknotes.
