Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not meant to replace humans, but rather to accompany and strengthen their capacities. AI is expected to be used always based on ethical, inclusive, and socially impactful principles.
Jakarta (Indonesia Window) – Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer just a vision of the future, but a reality already present in our lives, the remark was made during
LSPR AI Festival 2025, taking place on August 25–26, at LSPR Transpark Bekasi, West Java.
From the smartphone screens touch every day, to increasingly intelligent work systems, to the way we search for information and form opinions, AI has become part of the pulse of modern society.
With its ability to analyze data in seconds, this technology is paving the way for limitless innovation. The question now is no longer ‘how sophisticated can AI be,’ but ‘how wisely can we use it’.
In response to this challenge, the LSPR Institute of Communication and Business has emerged as a pioneer in integrating AI into education.
For LSPR, AI is not just a tool, but a strategic partner capable of strengthening human capacity.
Through the LSPR Center for Artificial Intelligence and Communication Technology (LSPR CAICT), the campus is committed to preparing a generation of young people who not only understand how AI works but are also able to use it creatively, ethically, and responsibly.
The commitment is realized in the LSPR AI Festival 2025, which is taking place on August 25–26, 2025, at LSPR Transpark Bekasi, West Java.
Under the theme ‘Smart Collaboration for Responsible & Creative AI,’ the festival will serve as a platform for cross-sector collaboration to demonstrate how AI can be a positive force.
Over two full days, festival participants are invited to immerse themselves in a variety of inspiring experiences, including sharing sessions with experts and regulators, practical workshops on prompt engineering techniques and AI-based creative content production, and an AI for Social Good competition that challenges young people to use technology for social good.
Furthermore, there will be interactive educational programs for high school and vocational school students, student work exhibitions, art performances combining human creativity with machine learning, and an AI video competition award showcasing fresh ideas from young talent.
For
Dr. (H.C.) Prita Kemal Gani, Founder & Director of LSPR, innovation without responsibility is a waste of time.
"At LSPR, AI has become part of our interdisciplinary curriculum. Students are not only equipped with technical understanding but are also encouraged to become creators who can use it to build smarter businesses, strengthen communities, and create a more sustainable world. This is how we prepare a generation that will not only follow the flow of change but also help guide it," she said.
Support for this initiative also comes from the government. Aju Widya Sari, Director of Artificial Intelligence and New Technology Ecosystems at the Ministry of Communication and Digital, emphasized the importance of AI literacy in higher education.
"Not only does artificial intelligence impact the academic and business worlds, but also has enormous potential for the national economy. It is estimated that AI's contribution to Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) could reach up to 366 billion US dollars. This enormous potential will only be achieved if we have skilled and ethical human resources," she noted.
Meanwhile, Dr. Dendy Muris, Head of LSPR CAICT, emphasized that the core of technological transformation remains communication.
"AI is not meant to replace humans, but rather to accompany and strengthen their capacities. Through LSPR CAICT, we ensure that the use of AI is always based on ethical, inclusive, and socially impactful principles. We believe that technology should be a friend to humans, not a substitute," he said.
The LSPR AI Festival 2025 is more than just an event. It represents a collective momentum, a turning point in how we understand and manage technology.
This festival reminds us that AI is not solely about accelerating innovation, but rather about how technology can ignite inspiration, foster creativity, and have a real impact on society.
Furthermore, the LSPR AI Festival 2025 also strengthens LSPR CAICT's position as a center for AI research and development, focusing on governance, ethics, and the responsible use of AI.
Through the event, LSPR invites all levels of society—students, educators, industry players, policymakers, and the wider community—to collectively view AI not merely as a behind-the-scenes machine, but as a partner in our journey toward the future.
A more inclusive, equitable, and imaginative future, where technology is not only a driver of change but also a guardian of human values.
"Through the various discussions and showcases at this AI Festival, I increasingly understand that students are not just technology users, but must also play a role as creators who can direct the development of AI on a positive, ethical, and beneficial path,” Della Mellianie Hery, LSPR Student, Faculty of Communication Sciences, said.
This experience strengthens my belief that the younger generation must be at the forefront to ensure that AI is utilized for innovation while still upholding human values, she added.
“For me, the LSPR AI Festival 2025 truly opens up a new perspective on how artificial intelligence can become a strategic partner for human creativity," she said.
